A home win for triathlon pro, Michael Weiss. The Lower Austrian won the anniversary edition of the XeNTiS triathlon in Piberstein. Weiss, a long distance endurance specialist, surprised crowds with a speedy short-course victory in Saturday’s sprint.
Michi was first out of water in the 750 meter swim, a massive accomplishment for an Ironman athlete known primarily as one of triathlon’s top cyclists.
"I've noticed in the last few weeks that I've made a step forward in swimming,” Weiss reflects. “But I certainly did not expect such a great time in the water.”
Michael was especially pleased with the swim suit Blueseventy PZ4TX, which he compares to a “Torpedo” feeling in the water and will use in Kona this October, wearing over his skintight cut and aerodynamically optimized time trial suit.
In Piberstein Weiss led the field in all three disciplines (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run), and celebrated victory at the 20th edition of the XeNTiS triathlons.
On Sunday the 3x Ironman Champion along with XeNTiS marketing chief, Fritz Sackl, organized a ride with an illustrious group of fans, customers, and retailers to share tips and advice around wheels, bike set-up, and racing.
On Saturday August 22nd Michael Weiss will race the Ironman 70.3 Budapest.
